Maureen Arago received her Juris Doctorate with Honors from the University of Florida College of Law in 1989. Upon leaving the firm Carlton, Fields, Ward and Cutler in 1991, at which Ms. Arago worked in the Real Estate Department, she established her own firm, then the Arago Law Office. The firm focused at that time primarily on real estate closings and litigation brought about by failing savings and loans. More recently, Maureen's practice has focused predominantly affecting the residential property owner and borrower. Therefore, much of her current litigation practice is devoted to assisting residential property owners impacted by the deflated housing market and loans they cannot seem to manage, and bankruptcy filings (creditor and debtor) for both companies and individuals. Maureen also assists families with estate planning services. Working with a client's financial planner and accountant, she assists clients in deciding what will best meet their needs. She prepares wills, power of attorney documents, trusts, and health surrogate documents, and she assists with the probate of estates including formal and summary administrations.
